About the Angel Tree
What it is and who it is for.
What is the Angel Tree Project?
The Angel Tree is a Christmas giving initiative by The Covenant Nation, Iganmu that gives members of our congregation the opportunity to make a child's Christmas wish come true. You can pick a tag, pay for the requested gift, pray for the child, and attach a Scripture.
Who are the gifts for?
The gifts are for children identified through the beneficiaries of the Angel Tree Project by The Covenant Nation, Iganmu. Each tag represents a specific child's Christmas wish.
Can I know the name or details of the child receiving my gift?
For the privacy and protection of the children, we may not be able to share personal information about individual children. What we can tell you is that your gift will be delivered to a child whose Christmas wish you have helped fulfil.
Who sees my details?
Only the Angel Tree team, to confirm your gift and remind you. Never the children or other donors.
Giving a gift
How to take part, and what to do if you're unsure.
How do I participate?
It's simple: 1. Pick a tag. 2. Give the gift by cash transfer of your pledged amount. 3. Pray for the child. 4. If you'd like, add a Scripture for the child (it's optional). We'll take care of getting the gifts to the children.
Do I have to wrap or buy the gift?
No. You are not purchasing the gift. Just do a cash transfer of your pledged amount and we will handle the rest. After you pledge you'll see the account details; put the wish's code in the transfer description so we can match it.
Can I pick more than one tag?
Absolutely! You can pick one tag or as many as you feel led to support. You can also encourage your family, friends or colleagues to participate with you.
What if I'm not sure about the gift?
The child's wish is written on the tag. If you're unsure about the item or need clarification, please speak with the Welcome Centre/Angel Tree team before giving.
Can I give towards something different from what is on the tag?
We encourage you to give towards the item specified on the tag, because the wish was provided for a reason. If the item is unavailable or you're considering an alternative, please speak with the Angel Tree team first.
What if the gift is too expensive for me?
You don't have to feel pressured. You can choose another tag that is within your means, use Give any amount, or speak with the Angel Tree team about other ways to participate. Every gift matters.
Giving together
Families, teams and small groups.
Can my family participate together?
Yes! Families are encouraged to choose a tag together and make the experience a shared Christmas activity.
Can my company, team or small group participate?
Yes. Organisations, teams, departments, small groups and families can collectively sponsor multiple wishes. Please speak with the Angel Tree team if you'd like to coordinate a group contribution.
Prayer and Scripture
The heart of being an Angel.
Do I need to pray for the child even though I don't know them?
Yes. That's an important part of being an Angel. You may not know the child's name or circumstances, but God does. Take a moment to pray for their life, family, future, wellbeing and that they will experience the love of God.
Do I have to attach a Scripture?
The Angel Tree is not only about giving a physical gift. It's also an opportunity to pray for a child and share God's Word. It's optional, but we'd love every Angel to prayerfully choose a Scripture that speaks God's love, hope, protection, joy or blessing over the child, and we will attach it to the gift. If you don't send one, our team will choose one so that every child receives a word.
What Scripture should I choose?
Choose a Scripture that you feel led to pray over the child. It could be about God's love, protection, hope, joy, His plans for their future, His provision or His presence. You can write the verse via the link provided.
Deadline and changes
Timing, and what to do if plans change.
When do I need to redeem my pledge?
All pledges should be redeemed on or before Sunday, 6 December 2026. Please don't wait until the last minute, as we need time to sort and deliver the gifts before Christmas.
What if I picked a tag but can no longer fulfil it?
Please don't simply leave the tag unfulfilled. Contact the Angel Tree team as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements and ensure the child's wish isn't missed.
What happens after I pledge?
You get a private page (and an email, if you give us your address) with what to do next. When your money is in and the gift is bought we'll thank you and invite you to send a scripture or a few words for the child.
Still not sure? Speak to the Welcome Centre/Angel Tree team, or choose a child's wish and begin.
